Maida Lucille Melton
Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She was 86 years old. She was born in Herrin on Nov. 4, 1915, to David and Maggie Vinson Stull. She married John Melton on July 3, 1952, in Herrin. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Melton was a member of First United Methodist Church of Herrin. She worked as a sales clerk in Sears catalog department. Niece Nancy Parquet of Janesville Calif. survives her. Her parents, husband and three infant sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday March 12, 2002, in Van Natta Funeral Home, with the Rev. Lee Lovett officiating. Burial will be in Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 9 p.m. Monday, March 11, 2002 at the funeral home. Cecil (Vinson) Tarrants, Eldred Vinson and Maida's mother Maggie (Vinson) Stull were siblings.
